The San Juan Community Theatre is dedicated to providing education and entertainment for all - from the littlest children to the more senior members of our island communities. Each year the Missoula Children's Theatre brings its small troupe in a bus full of costumes to the island to recruit children to perform on the Whittier stage in such plays as Cinderella.



Thanks to dozens of volunteers on the island, we have also launched children's theater as a special attraction for youth and families. The Jazz Fly and the Angel Food Cake filled the Theatre with delighted audiences who came to see our island children perform with great musical accompaniment provided by local jazz musicians. A committee of the Board of Trustees, along with willing volunteers from local schools, is leading the effort to provide children with an appreciation for the performing arts, as well as the opportunity to develop the poise, self-discipline and confidence that comes with the magic of being on stage.
