Chamber Music San Juans
Chamber Music San Juan
Support the wonder of classical music with your attendance at the next Chamber Music San Juans concert. Dedicated contributions are also accepted gratefully for the continued glory of these mesmerizing compositions played by the renowned ensemble.

Chamber Music San Juans was established more than 10 years ago by the famed Andor Toth, who was once one of the youngest members of the NBC Symphony under Arturo Toscanini. He inaugurated the chamber music program at the Community Theatre and was a full-time resident of San Juan Island until his death in 2007. This outstanding group has continued under the direction of Pat Kostek, and recently dazzled audiences with Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. Listeners who had no idea how much they could love classical music stood up and cheered this music composed almost 300 years ago. The San Juan Community Theatre is very proud of Chamber Music San Juans, and will be forever grateful to Andor for bringing it to us.

San Juan Singers
San Juan Island’s mixed-voice community chorus – San Juan Singers – gives voice to the joy of music all year round. These local residents include 50 of our finest singers – from high school age to, well, a certain age. A recent favorite was Vivaldi’s oratorio, Gloria, presented in a memorable holiday concert. The classic Baroque choral work featured a 15-piece orchestra led by Victoria conductor Yariv Aloni.

The San Juan Singers accompanied island children in a delightful rendition of The Reluctant Dragon and, in another performance, demonstrated their versatility in a marvelous selection of show tunes. One of the special favorites presented by our San Juan Singers is Handel’s Messiah, especially the chorus (the one part almost everyone knows!) sung during the holiday season with the audience singing along.
