The San Juan Community Theatre is located a few blocks from downtown Friday Harbor at 100 Second Street. The Theatre box office is located at the front of the building, and is open for the purchase of tickets to upcoming events Tuesdays through Fridays from 11 am until 4 pm, Saturdays from 11 am until 2 pm, and one hour before each show.
The building contains two performance venues: the 285-seat Whittier Theatre; and our smaller “black box” Gubelman Theatre, which can be configured in multiple ways, seating up to 75 patrons. The building also houses the offices of the Theatre's executive director and staff. The Whittier, the Gubelman and the Theatre lobby are all available for the use of other organizations on a limited basis at times when they are not being used for regular Theatre productions (contact Steve Judson our production manager at 360-378-3211 x22 or prod@sjctheatre.org if you would like information about this). There is a small kitchen in the building that is available for preparing and/or serving food and beverages. The Theatre has a second facility, the Performing Arts Resource Center (we call it “PARC”), located at 70 Salt Spring Road, off Beaverton Valley Road - about nine-tenths of a mile outside the town limits. This facility contains rehearsal spaces, our costume shop, our prop room, and our set construction and storage areas. |
