When it comes to the action right on stage, volunteers certainly are integral to “putting on a show!”
Actors:
Both “newbies” and experienced actors are encouraged to join the magic of live theater at SJCT. Auditions are typically held 12-16 weeks before a major production and are usually held at the PARC Building (70 Saltspring Drive) or the Gubelman Theatre. We also hold auditions periodically for our On Book! Readers Theatre series and in the spring for our Summer Musical Theatre Camp for kids. Time commitments vary from four days for On Book! to nine weeks of preparations for musicals.
Directors:
Individuals with Theatre or directing experience are very welcome to become part of our directing team. Not only do we need qualified directors for our fall, winter and spring productions, directors are also needed for our On Book! Readers Theatre series. And if you have a specific play you’d like to propose to direct for SJCT, contact Artistic Director Nathan Kessler-Jeffrey at This email address is being protected from spambots. Designers:
From sets to costumes to sound and lighting, experienced designers are key components of the stage team. Plus! If you’ve always wanted to design but never knew how to get started, training is available.
