This performance satirizes and addresses human cruelty. In doing so, it contains:
Sexism, Homophobia, Racism and White Supremacy, Domestic Abuse, and Religious Insensitivity

In this 20th century quasi-comedy takeoff of Ulysses’ return from the Trojan War, hunter Harold Ryan returns home from Africa after eight years (he’d been missing and presumed dead).  Upon his return, his wife is aghast and his son is enchanted.

Writer Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. paints a character study that is an attack on phony heroes and macho swagger, complete with issues of sexism, racism, and gratuitous violence—and filled with funny dialogue.  “These are character issues that we continue to deal with today in society,” said director Tony Vivenzio.  “In this play, we watch the destruction of Harold Ryan’s personality by other characters fighting to show it’s okay to be non-comformist.”
