Theatrical Intimacy Best Practices Workshop

FREE event, but please register to attend.

Whether it’s a handshake, an embrace, or a kiss nearly every play has a moment of intimacy whether it is romantic, familial, or cultural. And just like dancing or fighting on stage, there are tools that can be used to navigate those moments with respect and care. Come learn about intimacy best practices used in the theatre to create safer spaces and more exciting stories.

This three-hour workshop with Seattle-based Intimacy Director Ian Bond will focus on the foundations of consent culture within a theatrical context. Participants will learn how to establish boundaries in a theatrical space, advocate for their needs in collaborative work, and employ these skills in their next project. Physical contact is not required and participants will be able to engage with the workshop at their own level of comfort.

Pizza will be provided for directors and stage managers staying for the following 3-5pm session.
