This five-week course led by professional stage and telelvision actor Tyler Ryan* is aimed at developing and strengthening the performer’s physical presence onstage. Using the body as our starting point, we will explore the basics of character, emotion and gesture. Through fun exercises and improvisations we will learn to make choices in the moment and become active-listeners onstage. Come to grow, come for excitement, come to find your potential as an authentic, embodied performer! Open to all levels of experience.

* Tyler recently moved to San Juan Island from Portland, Oregon and has performed in theaters around Portland, in Colorado and on San Juan Island. He was a proud company member of the acclaimed ensemble, Theatre Vertigo, which focused on new or rarely seen works. He also produces original pieces for the stage with his company, Lights Up! Productions. He received his M.F.A. in Contemporary Performance from the Buddhist-inspired training program at Naropa University.
